About
If someone asked me what I love best, other than my family, it would be painting and spending time in nature. When I am not painting, you can usually find me in the garden or in the woods. These places are quiet and still, yet completely alive. This is what I aspire to capture in my paintings.
For me, the biggest joy in life is encountering a wild animal (or even a beautiful plant). There is a sense of awe and wonder in their presence. In this time of disconnection and technology, it is important to keep this sense of awe and respect. I believe our relationship/bond with animals and plants helps us become more connected to our humanity.
I was born in Montreal where I studied interior design, including basic art classes and art history. Although it was something I dreamt of doing since I was a small child, it was many years later that I learned acrylic and oil painting.
I have been fortunate to have traveled to South Africa where I was able to see many wild animals in their natural habitat. I have also spent countless hours observing the local wildlife while living in Victoria and one of the remote Discovery Islands of British Columbia (with wolves right in my backyard).
I am now living in rural Nova Scotia where I spend my time painting, raising my daughter, and building a homestead.
